Aubrey sits in northeastern Denton County, about 12 miles northeast of Denton, on U.S. 377. Peanut farms once filled its sandy soil, which later drew horse ranchers, and the town is now known as Horse Country USA. Lewisville Lake lies just south, and Lake Ray Roberts is close by.

What's for sale

Homes sold at a median near $295,000 in the three months ending August 2026. Silverado and Sandbrock Ranch sit just outside the city limits, with about 2,400 homes planned at Sandbrock Ranch.

The honest part

What to know first

  • One location in Aubrey scores 39 on Walk Score.

Not its strength: walkable, transit options, vibrant, big-city energy, a real downtown, restaurants, nightlife, shopping, luxury homes.

Not rated yet: golf. That means I haven't confirmed it either way, not that it isn't here.
