What it's like
The short version
Josephine sits in southeastern Collin County, with a small part in Hunt County, 38 miles northeast of downtown Dallas. The town began in 1888 when the railway reached the area, and it takes its name from the daughter of J.C. Hubbard, who gave the land for the town site. Farm-to-Market Road 6 is the main corridor.

The honest part
What to know first
- The nearest Walmart Supercenter is in Royse City, under 10 miles away.
- Josephine is not among the six cities in the Collin County Transit service area.
- Stage 1 water conservation runs from April 1 to October 31.
Not its strength: transit options, vibrant, big-city energy, a real downtown, parks and trails, lake days, land and acreage, luxury homes.
Not rated yet: walkable, restaurants, nightlife, shopping, golf, horses welcome. That means I haven't confirmed it either way, not that it isn't here.
Get outside
- Josephine City Park
