Living in Justin, Texas
Justin
A railroad-era Old Town, ball fields and thousands of new homes on FM 156.
What it's like
The short version
Justin is a Denton County city at the crossroads of FM 407 and FM 156. It grew out of the Santa Fe Railroad's extension in the mid-1880s and petitioned for its post office in 1887. Timberbrook and Treeline are adding thousands of homes, and an Old Town Master Plan now guides the historic core.
What's for sale
Homes sold at a three-month median near $470,000 through September 2026, with 40 sales in September. Timberbrook along FM 156 has a couple thousand homes built and several thousand more planned, and Treeline south of FM 407 has 2,700 homes planned.

The honest part
What to know first
- One Justin address scores 28 on Walk Score.
- DCTA's service page names Denton, Lewisville and Highland Village, not Justin.
Not its strength: walkable, transit options, vibrant, big-city energy, a real downtown, shopping, lake days, luxury homes.
Not rated yet: restaurants, nightlife, golf, land and acreage, horses welcome. That means I haven't confirmed it either way, not that it isn't here.

Taxes
2025 rates per $100: Northwest ISD 1.084100, Denton County 0.185938. Add the city rate shown on the parcel record. Homestead not applied.
Some land along FM 156 and Highway 114 uses the Justin ZIP code but sits inside Fort Worth, so the city rate differs there. Check the unit list on the address.
