What it's like

The short version

Lakewood Village is a Denton County town on a peninsula in Lewisville Lake, with water on three sides at the foot of the lake's toll bridge. Incorporated in 1977, it began with a planned golf course and two small-plane runways. It became an International Dark Sky Community in 2019.

What's for sale

Homes sold at a three-month median near $608,000 through June 2026, on five sales. The Enclave has 68 lots 50 feet wide, and The Arbors has lots of about one-third to one-half acre, along Eldorado Parkway. The town has water and sewer service, so septic systems are not needed.

What it does well

Strong here

  • Quiet, small-town pace●●●
635 people at the 2020 census, in a relaxed and quiet lakeside town.
  • Lake days●●●
The town sits on a Lewisville Lake peninsula, bordered on three sides by water.
  • New construction●●○
The Enclave and The Arbors add 146 home sites, and South Oak has 520 sites across Eldorado Parkway.

The honest part

What to know first

  • The town's list of Lewisville Lake ramps names none inside Lakewood Village.
  • Private use of public lake land is not permitted, and any structure at or below 537 feet needs written Corps permission.
  • DCTA's service page names Denton, Lewisville, Highland Village and Frisco, not Lakewood Village.

Not its strength: transit options, vibrant, big-city energy, a real downtown, restaurants, nightlife, shopping, parks and trails, land and acreage, established neighborhoods, luxury homes.

Not rated yet: walkable, golf, horses welcome. That means I haven't confirmed it either way, not that it isn't here.
