The short version

Ponder is a Denton County town west of Denton on FM 156, founded in the 1880s as a farming settlement. Ranchman's, opened in 1948 in a 1903 building, is back open on Bailey Street, and the 140-year-old Christal-Burnett School House stands at Eddie Deussen Jr. Park.

What's for sale

The honest part

What to know first

  • Anderson Farms Parkway is being built to ease congestion on FM 156.
  • One Ponder address, on West Bailey Street, scores 23 on Walk Score.
  • DCTA names Denton, Highland Village and Lewisville as its member cities, not Ponder.

Not its strength: walkable, transit options, vibrant, big-city energy, a real downtown, restaurants, nightlife, parks and trails, lake days, luxury homes.

Not rated yet: shopping, golf. That means I haven't confirmed it either way, not that it isn't here.
