What it's like

The short version

Sachse sits northeast of Dallas across the Dallas and Collin county line, on State Highway 78 and the President George Bush Turnpike, about a mile north of Firewheel Town Center. The Station, a 134-acre mixed-use project, runs along the turnpike between Miles Road and Merritt Road.

What's for sale

Homes sold at a median near $430,000 in the three months ending September 2026. The Station has 275 completed homes, with single-family homes by Ashton Woods.

What it does well

Strong here

  • Established neighborhoods●●○
William Sachse founded the settlement in 1845, and the city incorporated in 1956.

The honest part

What to know first

  • Walk Score rates the city 18, so most errands take a car.
  • Sachse is not among the 12 cities in DART's service area.
  • The combined 2025 rate runs about 2.36 per $100 on a Dallas County address with Garland ISD.

Not its strength: walkable, transit options, quiet, small-town pace, vibrant, big-city energy, a real downtown, restaurants, shopping, parks and trails, lake days, new construction, luxury homes.

Not rated yet: nightlife, golf, land and acreage, horses welcome. That means I haven't confirmed it either way, not that it isn't here.
