What it's like

The short version

Seagoville sits along U.S. Highway 175 less than 20 miles from downtown Dallas, almost entirely in Dallas County. T.K. Seago founded the town in 1876, downtown centers on Kaufman Street and Malloy Bridge Road, and seven parks cover 105 acres.

What's for sale

Homes sold at a median near $307,000 in the three months ending September 2026. Stonehaven by Meritage covers about 800 homes, and the city's newest neighborhoods sit alongside homes from the early 2000s.

The honest part

What to know first

  • The north side of East Malloy Bridge Road has floodplain that affects how new development is reviewed.
  • Environmental Way is the city's focus for heavy industrial growth.
  • The combined 2025 rate runs about 2.25 per $100 on a Dallas County address with Dallas ISD.

Not its strength: transit options, quiet, small-town pace, vibrant, big-city energy, a real downtown, restaurants, lake days, luxury homes.

Not rated yet: walkable, nightlife, shopping, golf, land and acreage, horses welcome. That means I haven't confirmed it either way, not that it isn't here.
