Wilmer sits on Interstate 45 about 14 miles south of downtown Dallas. The city calls itself America's Logistics Hub, with Union Pacific's Dallas Intermodal Terminal partly inside its limits, and Cottonwood Creek Preserve gives it 220 acres of parkland.
What's for sale
Homes sold at a median near $240,000 in the three months ending June 2026. Lennar's Cottonwood community is selling new three- and four-bedroom plans of about 1,270 to 1,600 square feet.

Not its strength: transit options, quiet, small-town pace, vibrant, big-city energy, lake days, new construction, luxury homes.
Not rated yet: walkable, a real downtown, restaurants, nightlife, shopping, golf, land and acreage, horses welcome. That means I haven't confirmed it either way, not that it isn't here.
